Keto chicken tikka masala
Chicken tikka masala is famous for its yellowish orange color, its comfort feeling thanks to the spices and the curry sauce creamy texture. Everything is mixed perfectly and as a result we have one of the most well-known British-Indian dishes.
Several years ago, my husband surprised me for our anniversary taking me to an Indian restaurant called Sindur in Barcelona. I don't know if it was because of the surprise, but I thought it was one of the most delicious dinners I've ever had.
Until this day Sindur is my favorite Indian restaurant. The staff is pretty nice with us since we have been there several times. I've brought friends and coworkers to enjoy the food and everyone says how good this place is.
Every time I try something new at a restaurant and that I like a lot, I go straight to google to find a recipe. When it comes to exotic recipes, the difficult part is to find the ingredients depending on where you live it can be actually impossible. Luckily for me I live in Barcelona and this wasn't a problem. It wasn't the most easy task ever, because I had to visit a few small markets in the Raval neighborhood to find what I wanted and although I went to a few I didn’t find all the spices I wanted but I did find the most important ones.
I've made several Indian recipes and this one has the easiest to find ingredients. The two spices that were harder to find were garam masala and turmeric powder. The last one is the one that gives this dish its color and nowadays you can find it almost at any supermarket, it went viral thanks to the hippies.
Garam masala is harder to find, but it's actually a mixture of spices, so you can make it yourself by mixing coriander, cumin, pepper, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and nutmeg powder.
Technically speaking chicken tikka masala is not an Indian food, it's an British-Indian food which was created after the British took the India. It's a food that's closer to the British taste and today it's kind of a British food rather than Indian hahaha. Anyway, it's delicious and really easy to make, here you have the recipe, enjoy!
